Sponsor Impact
AFP Chicago’s sponsors are critical partners in propelling us forward in our mission of empowering individuals and organizations to practice ethical fundraising through professional education, networking, research, and advocacy. Last year, our chapter:
- Welcomed 130 new members into our community of fundraisers, which collectively serves 435 local nonprofits.
- Presented 6 educational workshops on topics ranging from the value of a CFRE, to ethical gift acceptance, to event design — with an average of 45 registrants and an attendee survey satisfaction score of 4.4 out of 5.
- Continued our longstanding efforts to support early career and “new to development” professionals from diverse backgrounds through 18 peer mentoring matches and a class of 4 AFP Fellows.
- Grew and strengthened our Affinity Groups, which offer opportunities to fundraisers to meet and form relationships with colleagues with similar backgrounds and identities — hosting over 40 meetings, across 6 Affinity Groups, with over 150 active members.
- Deepened our commitment to IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access), evident in our successful work to recruit speakers from underrepresented racial/ethnic populations (67% of all public program presenters), maintain a diverse board of directors (42% BIPOC), and issue honoraria (39 total) to our presenters and facilitators to help compensate them for their time and efforts to engage our community.
Thank you.
With your support, we look forward to continuing to build on the work of our Chapter leaders, volunteers, and donors, who make everything we do possible.
